We don't deny our interest in American culture, there are a lot of american stuff here in France and a lot of young french want to fulfill their american dream.
It's just that we aren't that much expansif about it. Plus, we like to say how much we love our country and our culture... maybe by fear to loose it.
It might be stupid, but that's just the way we are.
